Educational settings today require teachers and leaders to focus on teaching, leading and learning in a VUCA (Volatile, Unpredictable, Complex and Ambiguous) World. Educators and leaders that understand how and why humans behave can enhance a quality learning environment that caters for the unique needs of students, teachers,administrators, support staff, parents and carers in their community.

The Salutogenic Schools Alliance Neuroeducation Professional Learning Series
draws upon the most  current research in neuroscience, models of internal psychology, and educational theory to help educators  understand how the brain learns and develops and how educators can use this knowledge to design and deliver more effective, engaging, and emotionally supportive
learning experiences to Generation Alpha.This professional learning is structured in two modules.

Module 1 - Neuroeducation Foundations
Module 2 - Neuroeducation in Practice

ELEVATE Professional Learning Series: Connecting Conversations

PURPOSE
To enhance understanding of the human brain and behaviour and support ongoing competency building in specific skills and techniques for effective solution focused conversations.

ABOUT THE COURSE - 1 day

This is designed to support Educators, Executive and Principals and includes:

• How the brain works in receiving and perceiving information
• How and why humans behave to get what they want
• Avoiding drama and learning to be an empowered coach
• Understanding the difference between human reaction vs response
• Strategies for giving and receiving feedback
• Self-evaluation techniques for mental wellness
• Curious questioning that can turn a 'challenging conversation' into a 'connecting conversation'

The Salutogenic Leader

PURPOSE
The reality of today's world is complex and challenging. This two-day course provides information, skills and strategies to support leading for impact whilst also supporting a culture of wellness.

ABOUT THE COURSE - 2 days

This is designed to support all school leaders (Principals and Executive) and includes:
• Leading schools in the VUCA world
• Leadership of self: basic understanding of human behaviour and motivation
• The links between brain function, wellness and learning
• Developing a model of leadership that promotes a culture of improvement and wellness
• Embedding planning for motivation and wellness into the School Excellence Plan
• Tools for developing whole school agreed Ways of Working
